What if CEO's Couldn't Afford Daycare?

Hey, did you know that by 9:46 AM on the morning of January 2, the average top-earning CEO in Canada will have earned what the average worker in Canada will earn in a year.
Betcha didn't know that. Want to know more "fun" facts?

Chinese immigrants have been forced to send their children BACK to China because day-care costs too much in Canada. These immigrants are professionals (meteorologists, teachers, engineers) who are very well educated; but are forced to work menial, minimum wage jobs in Canada, leaving not nearly enough to pay up to $1500 per month, per child for daycare. I guess that $100 per child under six, per month Mr. Harper called his "child-care plan", is simply careless.

The gap between the rich and poor in Canada is growing faster than ever; and the increasingly rapid elimination of social programs is impacting the most vulnerable people in Canadian society. Yet, housing prices continue to skyrocket, commodities go higher, tuition costs more. But still, the average worker's wage remain the same. Clearly, there is something wrong with this picture. Why should the majority of the wealth in this country be held by only few, especially when there is SO MUCH that could be done for the good of everyone; workers, students, artists, homeless people, disabled persons, at-risk youth. There is so much that should be done - and so much left undone. No wonder Canada has fallen out of favour in the UN's (United Nations) rankings' of the "top most desirable places to live". The reason? The alarming difference between the richest of the rich, and the poorest of the poor in Canada.

People are no longer valued for their potential as human beings, but their potential as dollar figures; their potential as cogs in a wheel of a corporate machine.

What happened to that "Canadian Dream", or was it only ever a dream of a naive child?
